Code Monkey

Code monkey is a derogatory or self-deprecating term for programmer, I suppose by analogy to grease monkey for mechanic. The popular song is by Jonathan Coulton, and inspired a lot of videos. The end result is like a Dilbert comic, except that it’s aimed at a different demographic.

I really like this song, in fact I woke up this morning with it running through my head. Sort of like the “small world” song. I guess I have to memorize the words so I can sing along when it gets stuck in my head again. I also like this anime style depiction of it, Fritos and Mountain Due.

I wish that the code monkey who is always making weird changes to the programs I use would just STOP!

My only complaint about the lyrics is “boring manager Rob”. Rob is named to rhyme with “job”. Functional but not elegant. Not that I have a better idea.
