Here are some photos from Goat Island, an offshore bird sanctuary a short hike across a reef from Malaekahana. The reef is two or three feet under water, depending on the tide. Waves wrap around the island and hit the reef from both sides, sometimes both sides at the same time. The trick is to get across without dunking your digital camera in salt water.
